Polar Explorers Limited Edition Cabal Rum

"Polar Explorers Limited Edition Cabal Rum"

£89.95 (plus delivery)

Cabal Aged Rum and The Explorers Club Great Britain and Ireland Chapter have come together to celebrate a mutual love of exploration, with the creation of a limited edition Cabal No.1513 Polar Explorers bottling that pays homage to Sir Ernest Shackleton.

Bottled at the same 47.3% ABV strength as the spirits taken on board the ship the Nimrod and strictly limited to 500 bottles, Cabal’s Polar Explorers Edition not only delivers an incredible flavour profile but celebrates Shackleton’s 1907 expedition to the South Pole.

Just like Cabal’s double award-winning No.1513 expression, the Polar Explorers Edition is a non-chill filtered blend of tropically aged rums carefully sourced from renowned distilleries in Guatemala, Guyana, Panama, Trinidad and the Caribbean. Consisting of rums derived from both pot and column distillation techniques, the blend is then finished in hand-selected Pedro Ximénez casks in Speyside, Scotland.

The higher ABV exposes to the nose a tale of sweet and smoke. Its perfume is heady with stewed fruits, accentuated by deep caramel notes and clouds of charred sweet chestnuts and rich smoke. To the palate this expression is a richer, denser and more impactful concentration of Cabal’s award-winning No.1513. You are presented by a strong fruity profile dense with notes of woody fig, barbecued pineapple and deep caramel tones. This sweetness is charged by the astringent cut of sherry, dark chocolate and toasted coffee.

Cabal will be giving 10% of all profits generated from this Limited Edition bottling to The Explorers Club Great Britain and Ireland Chapter, to support their critical exploration of land, sea, air and space.
